New Delhi: The Central Government introduced amendments to strengthen the Public Examinations Act following the nationwide NEET paper leak protests. The proposed changes seek stricter punishment for organised examination fraud and stronger safeguards for national-level competitive examinations.
The move follows weeks of student protests that led to major political developments, including the resignation of the Union Education Minister. The government said the reforms aim to restore trust in India’s examination system and prevent future paper leak incidents.
Officials also announced that greater use of technology and enhanced security measures would be adopted in future public examinations to improve transparency and fairness.
