Sepahijala Students Hold ‘Ekata Jatra’ on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary

📰 Introduction

In celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, students from various schools in Sepahijala district participated in a grand procession named “Ekata Jatra” (Unity March). The event was organized to honor the “Iron Man of India” and to spread the message of national unity and integrity among the youth.


🏫 The Procession

Hundreds of students, accompanied by their teachers and local officials, took to the streets holding banners, placards, and the national flag. The Ekata Jatra began from the district administrative ground and passed through several key areas of Sepahijala.

Students raised patriotic slogans and sang songs celebrating the ideals of unity, brotherhood, and peace — symbolizing Sardar Patel’s contribution to uniting India after independence.


👩‍🏫 Organizers’ Remarks

The event was organized in collaboration with local educational institutions and supported by the District Education Department.
One of the officials stated,

“Through this rally, we want to inspire our students with Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India. The youth must carry forward his legacy of discipline, courage, and service to the nation.”

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, often known as the Iron Man of India, played a crucial role in the integration of princely states into the Indian Union after independence. His efforts in building a united India are celebrated every year on October 31st, observed as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).
