New Delhi: India’s preparations to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad have received positive feedback from Commonwealth Sport officials following the successful conclusion of the Glasgow 2026 Games.
Officials said the centenary edition in India is expected to feature a larger programme with 15–17 sports and world-class infrastructure. The event is also seen as an important step in India’s long-term ambition to host the 2036 Olympic Games.
Commonwealth Sport leaders praised India’s commitment to delivering a sustainable and athlete-focused event while strengthening the future of the Games.
Preparations are expected to accelerate over the coming months as planning for venues, logistics and sporting infrastructure continues.
