New Delhi: Proceedings in the Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the seventh consecutive day on 28 July 2026 after Opposition members demanded a discussion on the police action against NEET paper leak protesters in Delhi. The disruptions prevented normal legislative business from taking place in the Upper House.
The Opposition insisted that the government respond to allegations regarding the handling of student demonstrations, while the Treasury benches opposed the demand. Amid the protests, the government managed to introduce the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, before the House was adjourned.
The NEET paper leak controversy has dominated the Monsoon Session, with repeated disruptions in both Houses of Parliament over demands for accountability and examination reforms.
