CBI Files Chargesheet Against 13 Accused in NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Case

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed its first chargesheet against 13 accused in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case on 29 July 2026, marking a major development in one of the country’s biggest examination scandals. Those named include alleged middlemen, coaching centre associates, beneficiary candidates and three National Testing Agency (NTA) paper experts.

According to the CBI, the investigation involved more than 360 witnesses, hundreds of documents and extensive digital forensic analysis. The agency alleged that the accused conspired to leak confidential examination material before the test, leading to the cancellation of the examination and a nationwide re-test.

The case sparked widespread student protests across India and intensified demands for reforms in the examination system. The chargesheet has now been placed before the court, with further legal proceedings expected after the submission of additional annexures and supporting documents.
