Agartala: Tripura University marked its 40th Foundation Day on 2 October with an ambitious development vision focusing on education, research, innovation and stronger links between academia and industry.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said education, research and innovation would play an important role in Tripura’s future development. The university presented a long-term plan estimated at around ₹1,589 crore for academic and infrastructure expansion.
The university also announced several collaborations aimed at strengthening research opportunities, employability and industry-academia partnerships. Five Memoranda of Understanding were highlighted as part of the institution’s efforts to expand its academic and research network.
Officials said the development programme will focus on improving infrastructure, creating new academic opportunities and strengthening research capabilities. Greater emphasis will also be placed on preparing students with skills relevant to emerging industries.
The 40th Foundation Day celebrations marked an important milestone for the university, which has grown into one of Tripura’s major centres of higher education.
