New Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Tehran confirmed on 24 July 2026 that all 28 Indian crew members aboard the Mozambique-flagged LPG tanker Disha were safe after the vessel was struck by a missile in Iranian territorial waters near the Strait of Hormuz. The attack occurred amid escalating tensions in the Middle East that have disrupted shipping in one of the world’s busiest energy corridors.
The Embassy said it was in constant touch with Iranian authorities and monitoring the situation closely. The vessel reportedly sustained damage, but no Indian crew member was injured in the incident.
The attack has renewed concerns over the safety of commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil and gas supplies. Indian authorities said they would continue coordinating with local officials to ensure the safety of all Indian nationals in the region.
