Putrajaya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation during Modi’s official visit to Malaysia. The two leaders witnessed the exchange of 11 agreements covering semiconductors, defence, healthcare, disaster management, trade and security.
Both countries agreed to deepen cooperation in critical technologies, food security, tourism and investment while promoting local currency settlements in bilateral trade. Malaysia also reiterated its support for India’s proposal to open a consulate in Sabah.
The leaders described the visit as another important step in strengthening the India–Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and expanding cooperation across the Indo-Pacific region.
